I drove down to Knepp yesterday with my friend Mags. The weather was stunning. We had a tour around the walled garden but the highlight for me was wandering around the estate itself. The place just feels so HEALTHY! The birdsong is simply incredible - Mags has a birdsong app on her phone - she ran it and there seven birds audible just where we were standing.
The rewilding is all very well and interesting but I really admire that they sell meat of the animals they cull - even horse we discovered. I had a choice Longhorn steak for lunch. The Knepp film is great if you haven't seen it - but I was also intrigued to learn that Isabella Tree has an interest in the esoteric religion of Nepal.
